Sep 25, 2021

St. Cloud, Minn. – The St. Cloud Norsemen sweep the weekend series with the Bismarck Bobcats with a 8-3 win to move to 3-1 on the season.

This marks the first time the franchise has earned a weekend sweep on home ice since the move to St. Cloud.

There were seven different goal scorers for St. Cloud, led by a 2-goal performance by Logan Kittleson and a 4-point night by Ryan O’Neill.

Tomas Bolo, the Slovakian goaltender, earned his second career win in his first NAHL start, after closing out Friday’s game with a win.

O’Neill scored his fourth goal in four games on the power play to put the Norsemen on top 1-0. Bismarck scored back to back goals to take a 2-1 lead before defenseman Sam Duerr scored to tie the game heading to the second period.

The Norsemen lit up the scoresheet in the second with four goals including another power play goal, this one by Brandon Lajoie, to put the Norsemen ahead 3-2 and they’d never trail.

Evan Murr, Hunter Hanson and Kittleson all lit the lamp in the second period.

Kittleson scored his second of the game midway through the third. Marc Lund chipped in his first NAHL goal with a minute and a half remaining to cap the scoring at 8-3.

Eleven different skaters recorded at least a point for the Norsemen: O’Neill (1G, 3A), Murr (1G, 2A), Ethan Lindahl (3A), Kittleson (2G), Hunter Hanson (1G, 1A), Kade Peterson (2A) and Nik Hong (2A) all had multi-point games. Broten Sabo tallied an assist as well.

The Norsemen move to 3-1 and hit the road to face Aberdeen next weekend for a two-game Central Division series. They return to the Municipal Athletic Complex on Friday, October 8, for a single game against the Austin Bruins at 7:00 p.m.
