NORSEMEN BULLED OVER IN HIGH-SCORING AFFAIR

St. Cloud, Minn. — The first ever meeting with the North Iowa Bulls will go down as a 7-4 loss for the St. Cloud Norsemen on Saturday night at the Municipal Athletic Complex.

The Norsemen jumped on the scoresheet early. Forward Blake Perbix (Princeton, MN | Northern Michigan) scored his sixth goal of the season to put St. Cloud up 1-0 at the 3:07 mark of the first.

Score would stay unchanged into the second period. That’s then North Iowa went to work, scoring four goals in a 2:53 stretch to take a 4-1 lead.

Defenseman Evan Murr (Stillwater, MN) scored his first of the game with 3:37 remaining in the second.

Facing a two-goal deficit, the Norsemen closed the gap early in the third. Rookie forward Kade Peterson (Fargo, ND) scored his fifth goal of the season 3:48 into the period.

North Iowa would stretch the lead to 6-3 with another pair of back-to-back goals including one on the power play. The Bulls added another to make it 7-3 before Murr tallied his second of the game and fifth of the season, to cap the scoring at 7-4.

The Norsemen hit the road next week to visit Bismarck for a pair of Central Division contests on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 26-27. St. Cloud will face North Iowa once again on Dec. 3 in Mason City, Iowa and back here in St. Cloud on December 4 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are available at tickets.stcloudnorsemen.com
