Norsemen Winger Tyler Dysart Named NAHL Bauer Hockey Central Division Star of the Week

Jan 30, 2023

The NAHL and Bauer Hockey announced on Monday that St. Cloud Norsemen Tyler Dysart was named the NAHL Bauer Central Division Star of the Week for the week of January 23rd – January 29th, 2023.

The Sunnyvale, CA native has 10 goals and 17 points in 32 games on the season but offensively has really turned it on as of late.  He has had 12 points in his last 13 games dating back to December 17th and in that span he has had a multi-point game four times compared to just once before that stretch.  Dysart’s bread and butter lately has been striking on the Rambow power play as he’s scored a man advantage goal in three of the Norsemen’s last five games over the past two weekends, and it’s no coincidence the Norsemen are 5-0-0 in that stretch.

Dysart acknowledges getting recognized by the NAHL and Bauer is wonderful, but it pales in comparison to the Norsemen’s success as a team.  “It definitely feels good.  Anytime as a team we can come together and make a push like that,” Dysart admits.  “I’ve always had a coach that’s told me ‘Individuals get their success from team success.’ It feels great.”

Dysart had five points and a team high three goals on the weekend but he wasn’t the only Norsemen that could have come away with the award.  In between the pipes Ethan Dahlmeir stopped 58 of 62 shots he faced on Friday and Sunday while picking up regulation wins in both games and Andrew Clarke had six points on the weekend while Blake Perbix added in five and Broten Sabo tallied four from the blueline.  “When we have Dahly playing on his head it kind of gives us that confidence and allows us to go play our game,” credits Dysart.  “That’s kind of when you get to see me, Sabo, Perbs, Clarkie, Pete, Hans, really anybody, get to work and obviously good things come out of that.”

Sometimes individuals are recognized for their accomplishments while their team may not have fared as well, but Dysart is thrilled that his award comes while the team is riding a season high winning streak.  “It’s great; it’s good for confidence,” Dyasrt points out.  “We knew with the buy-in that we have with all our guys, really, we can do this and I think we’ve been showing that and we’re gonna keep continuing to move it forward.”

Dysart is the first Norsemen forward to win the award this season and second St. Cloud player to do so as defenseman Broten Sabo was given the honor for the week of December 5th – 11th.

Dysart, Sabo and the entire Norsemen lineup are back at it with a home series against the Bismarck Bobcats Friday and Saturday, February 3rd and 4th.  For tickets go to: tickets.stcloudnorsemen.com.
