NORSEMEN TRAVEL TO MINOT TO TAKE ON MINOTAUROS

A Look at the Norsemen  

After a sweep of Bismarck. The Saint Cloud Norsemen (5-6)  who are third in the NAHL central division will travel to Minot, N.D. to face off against the Minot Minotauros (6-2) inside Pepsi Rink at Maysa Arena on Oct 20 and 21. Puck drop for both contests will be at 7:35 C.T.

Neutralize Minot

The Minotauros have been led by Jack O’Hanisain, Joel Lehtinen, and Niklas Ketonen. All three skaters combine for nine goals and 13 assists.  Minot is currently a point back from Saint Cloud in the standings with eight games played this season.

Minot Recap

Minot comes off a weekend where they swept the North Iowa Bulls on Oct 13 and 14 by scores of 4-0 and 4-1 inside of Mason City Arena. In the series, Jack O’Hanisain ledthe team in scoring and netminder James Norton recorded a shutout in game one of the series as they took four points on the road to improve to an impressive 6-2 record.

Manzella On Fire

Ryan Manzella (Eagan, Minn.) has been the backbone in the Saint Cloud net. Throughout the past three contests Manzella has made 64 saves and has recorded a 0.973 save percentage and 1.92 goals against average. This season he has made six appearances through his first year playing juniors in the North American Hockey League.

Rookie Impact

Keaton Orrey (Eagan, Minn.) has recorded his first two junior points in the past ten games this season. He had an assist against the Springfield Jr. Blues on September 16. Orrey most recently registered his second point of the season in this weekend’s series when he assisted on a goal by Hagen Moe (Grand Rapids, Mich.) on October 14 against Bismarck.

Next on Schedule

After this weekend’s trip down south. The Saint Cloud Norsemen will travel to Iowa for a home and home series that will take place on October 27 and 28. Game one will be played at Mason City Arena and game two will return home to the friendly confines of the Saint Cloud Municipal Athletic Complex.
