NORSEMEN FALL TO AUSTIN BRUINS IN PAIR OF GAMES

The Saint Cloud Norsemen dropped a two game series to the Austin Bruins October 6-7.  In game one, STC fell in a shootout by a score 3-2 at home. On Saturday October 7, the Norsemen skated to a 4-2 defeat at Riverside Arena in Austin, Minn.

Game 1- STC opened up the game with a two goal lead after receiving goals from Hudson Blue (Newport Beach, Calif.) and Hagen Moe (Grand Rapids, Mich.). Four minutes later Jack Luther brought the Bruins within one. In period two, Dylan Cook knotted the contest up. Both teams skated to a scoreless third period. Ocean Wallace scored the game winner for Austin in the shootout.  

In net, Ryan Manzella (Eagan, Minn.) turned aside 23 of 25 shots from Bruins Skaters. Austin Goaltender Matthew MacArthur made 23 saves in the contest.

Game 2- Austin would jump out to a two goal lead in the first period. Saint Cloud would respond in the second period when Gavin Gunderson (Roseau, Minn.) and Michael Coleman (Grand Forks, ND.) both found the back of the net. Gustav Noren and Austin Salani would give the Bruins two insurance markers in the 4-2 win on Saturday night. Max Weilandt () backstopped the Norsemen shutting down 31 shots. Trent Wiemken made 29 saves for Austin.

Next on the Schedule- Saint Cloud will take on the Bismarck Bobcats for a home series on October 14 and October 15 at the Saint Cloud Municipal Athletic Complex. Puck drop will take place at 7 p.m. for both games this weekend.
