DESPITE THREE GOALS FROM MOE, NORSEMEN SPLIT WINGS ON THE ROAD

NORSEMEN SPLIT ABERDEEN

The Matchup: The St. Cloud Norsemen (14-9-2) split a two game series with the Aberdeen Wings (15-14-1) by scores of 4-0 and 1-5. Both games were played on the road.

A Look at the Central: The Norsemen are tied for second place with the Bismarck Bobcats in 37 points. The Minot Minotauros are on top of the central division with a 23-6-1 record and 47 total points in the standings.

Series Review: In game one, St. Cloud took an early first period lead after Bowling Green University Commit Hagen Moe (Grand Rapids, Mich.) found the back of the net just seven minutes into the game.  Kyle Miller (San Jose, Calif.) and Hudson Blue (Costa Mesa, Calif.) were credited with the assists on the lone STC goal. Aberdeen would go on to score five consecutive goals in the second and third periods to claim a 5-1 win. STC would have a 34-32 shots on goal advantage.

In game two, St. Cloud would jump out and take a two goal lead in the opening frame after they received goals from Moe and Tyler Dysart (Sunnyvale Calif.) who tallied his 11th goal of the season. In the third period, the Norsemen would add on to the two goal lead after Moe would net his third goal of the series. Michael Coleman (Grand Forks, N.D. ) capped off the scoring late in the third period after he received a pass from veteran Carter Bradley (St. Louis, MO.). The Norsemen would go on to win the game 4-0.

Between the Pipes:

Game 1: Ryan Manzella (Eagan, Minn.) turned away 27 of 32 shots in the loss. Adam Dybal was credited the win after letting one goal against and making 33 saves on 34 shot attempts.

Game 2: Max Weilandt (Northbrook, Ill.) would claim the shutout after stopping 34 total shots. Cameron Croix-Kochendorfer stopped 29 of 33 shots by Norsemen skaters.

Up next on the Schedule: St. Cloud will return home to the Municipal Athletic Complex to face league-leading Minot to open up the new year on Jan. 5-6. Puck drop for both games of the series will be at 7:00 p.m. (C.T.)
