Dec 8, 2021

St. Cloud, Minn. — St. Cloud forward Nik Hong was recognized by the North American Hockey League as the Bauer Hockey Central Division 2nd Star of the Week after his performance in the Norsemen weekend sweep of the first place North Iowa Bulls.

Hong, a native of Minneapolis, scored a pair of goals in Friday’s 4-2 road win over North Iowa, with both the game-winning goal and a shorthanded goal, a highlight reel score that landed in the NAHL’s Top Plays of the Week.

In Saturday’s overtime win, Hong stole the puck and put it on the tape of Ryan O’Neill who launched home the game-winning goal to complete the sweep for the Norsemen with the 3-2 OT victory.

Norsemen forward Blake Mesenburg received an honorable mention for his three-point performance in the sweep of the Bulls, with two goals and an assist.
