NORSEMEN TAKE SINGLE GAME AGAINST NORTH IOWA 4-1

The Matchup- The St. Cloud Norsemen got a win before Thanksgiving as they defeated the North Iowa Bulls on Nov. 24 at home 4-1 inside the friendly confines of the St. Cloud Municipal Athletic Complex.

Single Game against Iowa (next game on Nov. 25)- Due to the break this game was only one game and not the normal two games series that takes place in NAHL play. Following the Austin Bruins contest the Norsemen will travel to Mason City to face North Iowa for the second game against the Bulls at Mason City Arena.

A Look At The Central- With the victory, the Norsemen moved up to third in the Central Division standings as they now have 27 points to make them tied with the Austin Bruins. Both teams are now two games behind league leaders the Minot Minotauros.

Game Recap- The home team came out hot as they netted two first period goals coming off the sticks of Hagen Moe (Grand Rapids, Mich.) and Carter Bradley (St. Louis, Mo.). In the second stanza, Andrew Cumming (St. Cloud, Minn.) gave St. Cloud a three goal lead as he lit the lamp seven minutes into the second period. North Iowa cut the lead to two when Charles Beland scored a minute into the third period. Kyle Miller (San Jose, Calif.) registered the insurance marker and game winner to end the scoring and make the deficit 5-1.

Between The Pipes- In net, Max Weilandt (Northbrook, Ill.) turned aside 19 of 20 shots from Bulls skaters. For North Iowa, Dylan Johnson stopped 37 of 41 total shots. Both goalies totaled 60 minutes of ice time.

Up Next- St. Cloud will travel to Riverside Arena to take on divisional foe the Austin Bruins to take second place in the North American Hockey League Central Division.
