NAHL SHOWCASE SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED

Aug 5, 2021

St. Cloud, Minn. — The St. Cloud Norsemen will take part in the 18th annual NAHL Showcase Tournament, held from September 15-18, 2021 at the Schwan Super Rink in Blaine, Minnesota. St. Cloud plays three games in the showcase including a matchup with the United States National Team Development Program.

All 28 other NAHL teams will play four regular-season games at the Showcase, which is one of hockey’s most prominent and popular events of the entire season. For scouting purposes, the event is a yearly gathering for every NCAA program and NHL team as they get their first look at some of the best and brightest hockey talent North America has to offer.

“We are thrilled to be back in Blaine in September for The Greatest Show on Ice, the NAHL Showcase. After we cancelled the NAHL Showcase in 2020 because of Covid, we are eager to get back to the Super Rink and remind people why this is the greatest event in junior hockey. There is simply no other event like this that brings together the number of scouts that we see during the five days and we look forward to seeing a new crop of players and talent showcase their skills,” said NAHL Commissioner and President Mark Frankenfeld.

The Norsemen will face the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks on September 15 at 5:30 p.m. (Schwan 3), the USNTDP on September 17 at 8:00 p.m. (Schwan 4), and the Shreveport Mudbugs on September 18 at 3:15 p.m. (Schwan 2).

The NAHL Showcase attracts over 9,000 people in overall attendance, including more than 330 professional, college and junior scouts. To date, 334 players have already made NCAA commitments during the 2020-21 season, with 280 of those (84%) being a record number of NCAA Division I commitments. All 2021 NAHL Showcase games will be broadcast live and in HD through HockeyTV, the official broadcast provider of the NAHL.

The 2021-22 Norsemen season will be the 18th in franchise history, third in St. Cloud and second as the Norsemen. Head Coach Corey Millen is back for his second season at the Norsemen helm. Home games are played at the Municipal Athletic Complex in St. Cloud.
