Richfield, MN – A late game push was not enough for the St. Cloud Norsemen to overcome a 3-2 deficit as the team fell to the Minnesota Magicians on Wednesday night.
In the first, the Norsemen took the lead on Charlie Skinner’s shot that would tuck itself under the crossbar for Skinner’s first goal of the season. Five minutes later, Devlin McCabe evened the game for the Magicians before Gavin Best would give the hosts the lead with 4:00 to go in the frame.
The second period saw the Norsemen fall behind 3-1 as the Magicians’ Jack Cronin netted a short-handed goal. Late in the period, Jack Suchy found a rebounding puck and lifted into the back of the net to cut the deficit to one, the score that would hold to be the final.
With the loss, the Norsemen drop to 3-12-0 and will take on the Minot Minotauros on Friday, January 29 at 8:05PM at Maysa Arena. Mark Shelley will provide the Play-By-Play on the Lyon Sheet Metal & Heating Norsemen Network beginning at 8:00PM on HockeyTV.
