NORSEMEN EARN 1st SHOWCASE VICTORY OVER STEEL

Game 3 Chippewa Steel vs St. Cloud Norsemen

The Saint Cloud Norsemen earned the first victory of the season as they defeated the Chippewa Steel in game three of the NAHL Showcase in Blaine, Minn.

Peyton Mithmuangneua (Aldergrove, B.C.) got Saint Cloud on the board early in the contest. The Norsemen would go into the first intermission with a 1-0 lead. The first period was a physical affair with 11 total penalties whistled in the stanza.

Saint Cloud would then continue the momentum from the first period when Braden Panzer (Grand Forks, ND.) netted the team’s second goal of the game from a Kyle Miller (San Jose, Calif.) feed. The Steel would go within one when Talan Blanck scored 11 minutes into the 2nd period.

Ryan Manzella (Eagan, Minn.) turned away 25 of 26 total shots from the Steel. Chippewa Goaltender Ajay White stopped 25 of 27 total shots from the Norsemen.

Saint Cloud will take on the Springfield Jr. Blues at 3 p.m. for game four of the NAHL showcase at Schwan’s Super Rink in Blaine, Minn.
