ST. CLOUD, MN – The St. Cloud Norsemen saw their contest with the National Team Development Program U18s slip away in the third period as Team USA secured a 5-3 victory inside of Dave Torrey Arena on Saturday night.

After a 13-2 defeat at the hands of Team USA the previous night, the Norsemen fired out of the gate with a number of early chances on net. After killing off their first penalty of the game, the Norsemen opened the scoring when Charlie Skinner found the back of the net for his first of the preseason campaign.

In the second period, Team USA quickly evened the game when Justin Janicke found the back of the net just 22 second into the frame. A few minutes later Caden Brown gave Team USA the lead with first goal of his campaign.

St. Cloud would level the game at 2-2 when Owen Belisle threw a shot on net that trickled into the back of the net off of the goaltender’s pads.

A pair of early goals from Tyler Boucher and Brown would give Team USA the 4-2 lead, but the Norsemen would cut the deficit in half as Noah Griswold found the back of the net.

Team USA would tally an insurance goal from Red Savage on its way to the 5-3 victory.

The Norsemen will prepare for the upcoming NAHL Faceoff on October 9, when the team opens the regular season on the road against the Aberdeen Wings.
