Game 2: St. Cloud Norsemen vs Northeast Generals
The Norseman fell to the Northeast Generals during a Thursday matinee showdown for game two of the NAHL Showcase in Blaine, Minn.
The Generals tallied the first goal of the contest when Tyler Ramm got Northeast on the board at 4:30 of the first period. But Saint Cloud would claw their way back, tying the game before the intermission when Louis Wehmann (Wayzata, Minn.) scored thirteen minutes into the first period.
Northeast would score six consecutive goals, and this would help them glide to the 5-1 win. Saint Cloud Goaltender Kyle Abrahamson (Esko, Minn.) stopped 24 of 31 total shots in 60 minutes. Toby Hopp backstopped the Generals and turned aside 22 of the 23 Norsemen shots.
Sixten Jennersjo collected two goals and one assist for the Northeast Generals. Branden Panzer (Grand Forks, ND.) would register the lone assist on Wehmann’s goal in the first stanza of play.
Saint Cloud will play game three on Friday against the Chippewa Steel at 11 a.m. for the third game of the NAHL showcase at Schwan’s Super Rink
