NORSEMEN POWERPLAY MIGHT NOT ENOUGH AS CLOSE GAME GOES TO MINOT

 MINOT, ND – Despite three powerplay goal, the St. Cloud Norsemen fell 6-3 to the Minot Minotauros on Friday night at Maysa Arena.

After a back-and-forth opening 10 minutes, the Minotauros opened the scoring when Carter Korpi gave the hosts the 1-0 lead. Shortly after, Minot extended its lead when Jared Lambright netted his first of the season.

With a late powerplay, the Norsemen brought the game to a one goal difference as Peyton Hanson scored his first NAHL goal.

In the second, the Norsemen, again, found themselves scoring on the powerplay as Jonny Meiers slotted his first career goal to tie the game at 2-2.

Soon after, Minot regained the lead from Christian Kadolph before another penalty would put the Norsemen on the man-advantage yet again. St. Cloud capitalized on the powerplay for the third time as Blake Mesenburg received a threading pass from Blake Perbix that he tucked in for a 3-3 score line.

Late in the frame, Minot took the 4-3 advantage as Kaiden Scott scored his second of the season.

With two empty-net goals late in the third, Minot would solidify their third win of the season with a 6-3 victory.

After the loss, the Norsemen fall to 0-3-0-0 on the season.
