NORSEMEN SCORE FOUR IN WIN AT MINOT

Minot, N.D. – The St. Cloud Norsemen skated away with a 4-1 win over the Minotauros on Friday night at Maysa Arena in Minot.

The Norsemen found the scoreboard in every way they could, scoring at even strength, on the power play and shorthanded.

Defenseman Broten Sabo (Rosemount, MN) scored his first career goal in the first period to tie the game at 1-1 after Minot opened the game with a goal by Braydon Beahm.

St. Cloud opened the second period on a power play and Ryan O’Neill (Roseville, MN // Univ. of St. Thomas) cashed in for his 13th goal of the season at the 1:12 mark, to give the Norsemen a 2-1 lead. Evan Murr (Stillwater, MN) and Blake Mesenburg (Orono, MN) both earned assists on the power play goal.

Midway through the second, while on an extended power play, the Norsemen scored while shorthanded for the seventh time this season. Mesenburg and Hunter Hanson (Blaine, MN) skated ahead after a takeaway on the penalty kill and Mesenburg put home his second shorthanded goal of the season to make it a 3-1 Norsemen lead.

Peyton Hanson (Hudson, WI) made it 4-1 at 6:58 of the third, with an assist to Kade Peterson.

Tomas Bolo made 17 saves as the Norsemen outshot Minot 45-18.
