Jan 13, 2022

St. Cloud, Minn. — It’s a home-and-home series weekend with the NAHL Central Division leading Austin Bruins. The Norsemen visit Austin on Friday night and host the Bruins on Saturday for a 7pm puck drop at the St. Cloud Municipal Athletic Complex.

The Norsemen are coming off a 7-1 victory over Bismarck last Saturday night at the MAC. St. Cloud saw seven different goal-scorers light the lamp in the win.

Ten points separate the Norsemen from the Bruins (33 games played) in the standings but St. Cloud (28 games played) has five games in hand compared to Austin. St. Cloud is 15-12-0-1 overall.

St. Cloud currently sports five NCAA Division I committed players on its active roster, including future athletes for St. Cloud State, Univ. of St. Thomas, Northern Michigan, Alaska-Anchorage and Maine.

The Norsemen are led in scoring by forward Ryan O’Neill (Roseville, MN / Univ. of St. Thomas) with 33 points on 12 goals and 21 assists. Forwards Nik Hong and Blake Mesenburg are next in scoring with 28 and 26 points respectively. Forward Brandon Lajoie leads the team in goals with 13.  St. Cloud Cathedral grad Blake Perbix has 12 goals and is fourth on the team in scoring with 22 points.

The 2021-22 St. Cloud Norsemen season is presented by Premier Real Estate Services, Noel Johnson. In addition to the MAC concessions, St. Cloud offers a variety of canned beer, wine and seltzer at home games, plus four beers on tap from partners Pantown Brewing Company.
