NORSEMEN OPEN UP SERIES AT HOME AGAINST BISMARCK
A Look At The Norsemen
The Saint Cloud Norsemen (3-6) will face the Bismarck Bobcats (5-3) on October 13 and 14 for a home series at the Saint Cloud Municipal Athletic Complex. STC has been led by Gavin Gunderson (Roseau, Minn.) and Louie Wehmann (Wayzata, Minn.) who are two of the leading scorers who combine for 11 points. Gunderson leads Saint Cloud in points and is tied with Wehmann and Michael Coleman (Grand Forks, ND.) with three goals in seven games this season.
Containing Beaumont
Forward Julian Beaumont has led the Bobcats in offense this season. Through eight games, Beaumont has recorded three goals on seven assists. Last season, Beaumont split time with the Bobcats and USHL’s Fargo Force. In 61 games, he totaled 14 goals and 24 assists.
Between the Pipes
STC has depth in the net with two solid goaltenders this season. Ryan Manzella (Eagan, Minn) has made four starts where he has a 2-2 record. Manzella records a 0.96 GAA and 0.956 save percentage. Max Weilandt (Northbrook, Ill) has made five appearances this season. Weilandt has a 1-2-1 record and posts a 0.90 save percentage with a 2.25 GAA.
Bismarck this season
The Bismarck Bobcats (5-3) defeated the North Iowa Bulls by scores of 5-0 and 1-0 on September 29 and 30 at VFW Sports Center in Bismarck, ND. On the road, the Bobcats have recorded a 2-0 record this season with wins coming against the Aberdeen Wings.
Central Divisional Foes
The Saint Cloud Norsemen sit in fourth place in the North American Hockey League Central Division. They are a point back from Bismarck who is currently in second place behind the Austin Bruins who have a four point lead in the division standings.
Next on the Schedule
After coming home to take on Bismarck for two games. The Norsemen will travel to North Dakota to face the Minot Minotauros for a two game series at Pepsi Rink at Maysa Arena on Oct 20 and Oct 21. Puck drop will take place at 7:35 C.T.
