St. Cloud MAC Celebrates 50th Saturday

Oct 26, 2022

This Saturday, October 29th, the St. Cloud Municipal Athletic Complex celebrates its 50th birthday and welcomes you to come join them for a free open skate that is offered to the public from 3 to 5 PM.

MAC Operations Manager Todd Bissett details what’s taking place with the festivities that day.  “At 3:30 the mayor is going to come in and do a short speech and give information about what’s going on at the MAC currently, what the future holds for the MAC as far as the Grow the MAC vote that’s coming up on November 8th,” explains Bissett.

In addition to Mayor Dave Kleis speaking there is also going to be recognition for the MAC’s longest tenured employee.  “We are able to distinguish one of our employees, Marie Peckskamp, who worked here for almost fifty years.  ‘Grandma Marie’ will get a proclamation for Marie Peckskamp Day.  Following that 10-15 minute program there will be cake and some beverages in the mezzanine,” Bissett points out.  “Just people rehashing all the times they’ve been at the MAC over the last 50 years.”

Following the birthday celebration and open skate the St. Cloud Norsemen will host the Minnesota Wilderness.  The puck drops for the game at 7:00 PM and tickets can be purchased at tickets.stcloudnorsemen.com.

And while you’re at the ticket site, be sure to check out seats in the Coors Light Chill Zone.  Chill Zone tickets cost just $13 and fans with those tickets can enjoy Coors and Coors Light 16 ounce cans all game long for just $2 a can.
